On 5th October 23 gymnasts from Tryst GC travelled East to Tranent for the Saltire Gymnastics Club Mega Event – Floor and Vault.
This was the largest number of gymnasts we have entered into a competition.
This event hosted several hundred gymnasts from around Scotland and was a well organised and fun event for our gymnasts.
This was a great first competitive outing for a number of our gymnasts. Competitions always test the nerves of even the most seasoned competitors particularly on new or different equipment than they are used to training on. Our gymnasts took this in their stride and were able to turn their nerves into a positive experience to perform beautifully on different apparatus than they are used to. Even when some aspects didn’t go quite to plan, our gymnasts still finished with a smile on their face and experience under their belts.
We returned home with 8 Gold medals, 6 Silver, 2 Bronze, 3 Top 6 place ribbons.
Special mention to Helena and Cristina who took 3 Golds each in their respective categories. Helena also achieved the top score of the entire day with a massive 26.2!
